- As of January 21, 2026:
Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province: Domestic TEP quoted at RMB 12,800 per metric ton (purity: 99.5%); Jiangsu Xinshu quoted RMB 19,300 per metric ton (purity: 99%).
Shandong Province: Quotations ranged from RMB 13,000 to 15,000 per metric ton (purity: 99%–99.8%+).
2. Price Differential Analysis
- Regional Disparities: Prices in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province are generally higher than those in Shandong Province—especially for high-purity grades (e.g., Jiangsu Xinshu’s 99% purity product priced at RMB 19,300 per metric ton).
- Purity-Based Differences: Higher purity commands premium pricing. For instance, products with ≥99.8% purity command premiums of approximately RMB 1,000–2,000 per metric ton over 99.5% purity grades.
II. Market Supply and Demand
1. Supply Situation
- Increasing Production Concentration: Industry production concentration rose from 63.2% in 2025 to 69.8% in 2026, accelerating the exit of small-scale, workshop-style production facilities.
- Policy Impacts: Local policies exhibit differentiated yet coordinated features—for example, Jiangsu Province launched a special action plan offering R&D expense super-deduction incentives and establishing a technological upgrading fund; Shandong Province focuses on circular economy initiatives, mandating ≥92.5% recovery rates for by-product chloroethane.
2. Demand Situation
- Broad Downstream Applications: Triethyl phosphate serves as an efficient, eco-friendly flame retardant and plasticizer, a critical functional additive in lithium-ion battery electrolytes, an organic synthesis intermediate, and a specialty solvent/extraction agent—widely used in engineering plastics, lithium batteries, pesticides, and aviation hydraulic oils.
- Growing Demand from Emerging Sectors: Rapid development of new energy vehicles and electronic information industries continues to drive robust demand for TEP in lithium battery electrolytes and electronic chemicals.
III. Market Trend Analysis
1. Technological Upgrading and Innovation
- Rising Demand for High-Purity Grades: Electronic-grade TEP (purity ≥99.99%) has emerged as a market highlight; the number of enterprises nationwide holding electronic-grade certification is projected to reach 14 by 2026.
- Green Synthesis Processes: Adoption of chlorine-free catalytic transesterification and other green synthesis routes helps reduce production costs and enhance product quality.
2. Policy Orientation and Market Regulation
- Three-Dimensional Capability Evaluation System (Quality, Safety, Low-Carbon): Regulatory focus has shifted from mere capacity control toward a comprehensive evaluation system covering quality, safety, and low-carbon performance—compelling enterprises to build end-to-end compliance capabilities across their value chains.
- Optimized Export Policies: The General Administration of Customs has introduced a 'Green Clearance White List' for TEP exports; enterprises certified under ISO 14067 carbon footprint standards enjoy a reduced inspection rate of 1.2%, representing a 76% decline compared to conventional clearance channels.
IV. Future Outlook
1. Price Trend Forecast
- Short-Term Volatility: TEP prices are expected to remain volatile in the near term, influenced by raw material price fluctuations, supply-demand dynamics, and policy adjustments.
- Long-Term Trajectory: With technological advancement and surging demand from emerging sectors, high-purity TEP prices are likely to sustain steady growth, whereas industrial-grade product prices may face downward pressure due to overcapacity.
2. Market Size Forecast
- Overall Growth: China’s TEP industry market size is projected to expand from approximately RMB 5 billion in 2025 to around RMB 15 billion by 2030, achieving a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.5%.
- Segment-Specific Demand Growth: The pesticide sector remains the largest application segment, expected to account for 45% of total demand; flame retardants rank second at 30%; demand from electronic chemicals and pharmaceuticals is also anticipated to grow significantly.
Triethyl phosphate is use as a flame retardant in the manufacture of polyisocyanurate (PIR) and polyurethane (PUR) foam insulation and thermoset plastic products. The chemical compound is also used as a viscosity reducer in plastic resins, and as a catalyst, solvent or intermediate in the production of pesticides, pharmaceuticals, lacquers and other products. As ethylating agent; formation of polyesters which are used as insecticides.
Triethyl phosphate is a colorless, high-boiling liquid and containing 17 wt % phosphorus; mild odor. Very stable at ordinary temperatures, compatible with many gums and resins, soluble in most organic solvents, miscible with water. When mixed with water is quite stable at room temperature, but at elevated temperatures it hydrolyzes slowly. Combustible. It is manufactured from diethyl ether and phosphorus pentoxide via a metaphosphate intermediate.
This chemical is included in Fine Chemicals. See more about what is Triethyl phosphate and Triethyl phosphate SDS information.
